Ganapati Smiles Among 3,000 Medicinal Plants: A Unique Eco-Friendly Farewell
Among chants of "Ganapati Bappa Morya" and beating dhol drums, an innovative eco-friendly Ganesh immersion ceremony took place on Friday at the Vedic Medicinal Plant Center in Sunrise Organic Park, Sri Pinjrapole Gaushala, Tonk Road, Sanganer. The ceremony linked environmental protection with the cultivation of medicinal plants.
The idol of Lord Dhanvantari Ganapati was crafted using cow dung (Gaumata ka gobar), fertile soil, and seeds of various medicinal plants including Tulsi, Shatavari, PKM Moringa, and Nagauri Ashwagandha. The initiative was spearheaded by Dr. Atul Gupta, International Coordinator of the Akhil Bhartiya Gaushala Sahayog Parishad, and Monika Gupta, Secretary of the Hahnemann Animal Charitable Mission Society.
Procession and Ritual Ceremonies
Monika Gupta perform the ritual worship following proper Vedic traditions. The idol was then carried in a grand procession to the immersion venue amidst enthusiastic slogans. A large gathering of cow devotees (Gausevaks), young Veda-reciting students (Vedpathi Batuk), and devotees danced joyfully along the path, chanting "Ganapati Bappa Morya, Agle Baras Tu Jaldi Aa". Devotees offered flowers and bid a heartfelt farewell to Lord Ganesh as the idol was immersed in a temporary pond created in the ground.
Symbol of Environmental Protection and Health
The highlight of this unique immersion was that the water mixed with soil and seeds from the dissolved idol was fed into the roots of more than 3,000 medicinal plants. Instead of departing until next year, Lord Ganesh will immediately live on in nature as new medicinal plants, offering health benefits and environmental conservation.
All attendees took a solemn pledge to keep Bappa alive within nature. Prominent attendees included social workers Mukesh Bhardwaj, Madhusudan Dadhich, A.K. Jain, V.D. Tiwari, and many others.
